Configuring OpenAI for Rocketship

This guide explains how to set up the OpenAI Platform for use with Rocketship.

1. Set Up an OpenAI Account

First, create an OpenAI Platform account. Note that this is linked to, but separate from, your ChatGPT account.

2. Create an OpenAI Project

Create a project named Rocketship. This keeps reporting and billing organized.

Next, add a payment method. OpenAI bills based on token usage. The -mini versions of models are much cheaper and usually work fine for Rocketship.

3. Create an API Key

Generate a new API key and name it Rocketship.
Do not share this key with other SaaS tools. If you do, your billing reports will be harder to track.
