Adding Horizon Autotask Widgets
Overview
This article walks you through registering and configuring the Horizon widgets in Autotask, including the Ticket Insight panel and the full-screen Dashboard Widget.
Prerequisites
- An active Autotask helpdesk integration configured in Horizon
- Admin access in both Horizon and Autotask
Before Autotask can see the widgets, you need to register them from Horizon.
- In Horizon, navigate to Integrations → Helpdesk → Widget Status.
- You will see a table listing available widget types: Dashboard Widget and Ticket Insight.
- Click the Register button next to Ticket Insight.
- Confirm the registration when prompted. The status will show Processing... while it registers with Autotask.
- Wait for the status to change to Active.
- Repeat steps 3–5 for the Dashboard Widget.
Both widgets should now show a status of Active on the Widget Status page.
We have registered our widgets, but Autotask has not enabled them for use yet.
- Log in to Autotask as an Admin.
- Go to Admin → Extensions & Integrations.
- Click Others Extensions & Tools at the bottom.
- Click Integration Center.
- Find Giant Rocketship in the listing and click Edit.
- Enable these settings:
- General->Active
- Integration Vendor Widgets->Active
- Vendor Insights->Enable Integration Vendor Ticket Insights->Active
- Vendor Insights->Enable Integration Vendor Configuration Item Insights->Active
- Click Save & Close.
Repeat for each ticket category where you want the Ticket Insight to appear.
Part 3: Set Up Ticket Insight in Autotask
Once the Ticket Insight widget is registered, you need to enable it on your Autotask ticket categories.
- Log in to Autotask as an Admin.
- Go to Admin → Features & Settings.
- Click Service Desk (Tickets).
- Click Ticket Categories.
- Edit your Standard ticket category (or whichever category you want the widget on).
- Click the Insights tab.
- In the Hidden Insights section, find Rocketship Ticket Insight.
- Drag it to the top of the Visible Insights list.
- Click Save & Close.
Repeat for each ticket category where you want the Ticket Insight to appear.
The Dashboard Widget gives your team a full-screen Horizon dashboard inside Autotask.
Create a Shared Tab
- Log in to Autotask as an Admin.
- From the top navigation, go to Dashboard, then click Manage Shared Tabs.
- Click New Tab.
- Set the tab name to Rocketship Horizon (or a name of your choosing).
- Publish the tab using the publish icon to the right of the tab name.
- On the blank dashboard, click + Add Widget.
- Select Choose an integration vendor widget from the widget library.
- Click Next.
- Select Rocketship Horizon.
- Click Next.
- For Layout/Size, choose the full-screen option (the icon with 4 arrows pointing outward).
- Click Finish.
Share the Tab
- From the top navigation, go to Dashboard → Manage Shared Tabs.
- Hover over the hamburger menu for your new tab and click Publish.
- Click Departments (you can also publish by Security Levels or directly to Resources).
- Select the departments you want to share the dashboard with.
- Click the back arrow next to Publish Tab.
Result
Your team will now see Rocketship Ticket Insight in the Insights panel when viewing tickets, and the Rocketship Horizon dashboard as a full-screen tab in Autotask.
